OBITUARY S R BOY'S STRANGE DEATH

Strangled by a piece of rope, the body of Samuel Hutchinson Jr, aged 15 years, high school student and Boy Scout, and son of Mr and Mrs Samuel Hutchinson and nephew of the well known T J Hutchinson, was found Wednesday night in the garage at the family home at Santa Rosa, life having been extinet for some hours. The boy had been working in the garage on rope knots and some athletic gymnasium apparatus. How he was caught was not known but it is presumed that he was trying a slip knot and was accidentality hanged. The rope was found twisted around the boy's neck and the condition of it showed, according to the family, where he had been working on it. There is no thought that he had intentionally hanged himself as he was in cheerful mood and had had no trouble. The body was found at 9:30 after the boy had been missed and a search made for him. He had taken the rope after his return from school and had evidently gone direct to the garage where he met his untimely death. Coroner F H Phillips was notified and went up on Thursday to hold the inquest. It was learned that the boy had been seated on a work bench and had evidently slipped or fallen from the bench and strangled to death. The father found the body when he opened the door of the garage.
