Services for T. Alvin G. Johnston, 85, R.R. No. 3, Milan, who died Tuesday in the Fairhaven Nursing Home, Moline, where he had been three days, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Milan Methodist Church. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery. Visitation will be until noon Friday in the Larson Funeral Home, Milan.

Mr. Johnston was a retired farmer and trustee of the Milan Methodist Church for 50 years.

In 1903 he married Georgia Breadon near Milan. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1963.

A former member of the board of directors of the Sherrard Power Co., Mr. Johnston was also a member of the board of directors of Ginger Hill School District for 27 years.

He was a charter member of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife; daughters, Mrs. Clarence Scherer, Rock Island; Mrs. Arthur Bohman, Moline; and Mrs. William L. Whan, R. R. No. 3, Milan; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
