OBITUARIES

ALFRED HUTCHINSON - Thomas Alfred Hutchinson, son of Robert and Sarah Frances Petty Hutchinson, was born Feb 4, 1892 in Milford township, Crawford county. He was baptized in infancy in the Methodist faith, in the old Milford Center school. He attended the same school and grew to manhood in this same area.

He was united in marriage to Tessie Cose on Dec 21, 1913 at Deloit., they built a new home and lived in that home for 47 years, where Mrs Hutchinson died on Sept 23, 1960.

On Nov 16, 1962 he was married to Mrs Verna Light at Wellington, Tex, and they then divided their time between the home in Crawford county and the home in Wellington, Tex. Mrs Verna Hutchinson died March 9, 1965 in Wellington, Tex. Following her death Mr Hutchinson returned to his home near Denison, and after a brief illness was taken to the Crawford County Memorial hospital on April 8, and died on April 10, 1965. He reached the age of 73 years, 2 months and 6 days.

He had spent his entire lifetime on the same farm and had been a grain farmer and leading stockman in Crawford county. He specialized in Belgian draft horses and then in the Aberdeen Angus cattle. In later years he had farmed in partnership with his niece and husband, Mr and Mrs Harvey Lamp.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Myrtle, Anna and Fay, Mrs Phil Pieper; one nephew, Yale Pieper, killed in action during World War II, on June 15, 1944. He is survived by two sisters, Pearl, Mrs Jesse Brown of Missouri Valley, and Loyal, Mrs Louie Luitjens of Odebolt; also two aunts, Mrs Ida Meyers of South Shore, S D, and Mrs Blanch Wood, Odebolt; eight nieces, one nephew and two great-great nieces and a number of cousins. During his lifetime there have been five generations live on the home farm.

Funeral services were held April 13 at 2 pm at the Maxwell Funeral home. Interment in the Deloit cemetery. Rev Fred Hamlin officiated. Verlynn Beal was soloist, accompanied by Mrs Norman.

Pallbearers were Mervin, Curtis and Gary Cose, Gordell Lamp, Donald Kenney and Arlen Luitjens.
