OBITUARY JOHNSTON

Robert Johnston was born 80 years ago in Fermanaugh county, Ireland, and past away on August 22 at St Anthony's hospital, Rock Island. He came to the United States 42 years ago last June and made his home for five years with his brother, the late Samuel Johnston. He then moved to Iowa where he farmed for himself for a number of years. Upon retirement, 20 years ago, he again made his home with his brother Samuel. After his brother's death he lived with his nephew, the late Josiah Johnston. Mr Johnston never married. He is survived by a sister, Mrs Rachel Downing of Ireland; a niece, Mrs Arthur Simmon, of Rural; and a nephew, David Johnston, of Milan. Funeral services were held August 24 a the David Johnston home. Rev Rodney F Cobb, rector of Trinity Episcopal church, Rock Island, officiated. Pallbearers were C J Peterson, E A Spiegel, John Berg, George Clark Sr, Hugh Robson of Ridgewood and john Erickson of Davenport. Ginger Hill Correspondent
